The evils of Obamacare! Revealed

by Johnny Patriot
We at the Staten Island Tea Party recently called for Congressman Mike McMahon to help repeal the new health care reform law passed by President Obama: Obamacare.

Here's the Tea Party take on this: Medicare, Social Security, earmarks for local transportation and military spending - these are all legitimate forms of government handouts.

But this 'Obamacare' just goes too far. When will we stop this nanny-state that gives people free rides?

It is just a matter of time before the Death Panels kick in, and the red shirts starting invading our homes and clubbing our children.

Now there is proof that this massive government scheme is turning into the evil nightmare we at the Tea Party were warning you about.

Take a look at this piece of propaganda that shows how 'Obamacare' is ruining the country:

(Update: Call to Action) We need to stop the insanity. Call Mike McMahon's office, and say this:

1. Keep the government out of my Medicare.

2. Also, keep those Social Security checks flowing to my mini-mansion in Prince's Bay. (I need to refurbish the addition on my patio after that last storm.)

3. And, most importantly, do NOT allow poor people who are sick obtain affordable health care - 'cause that's socialism.

Tell 'em Johnny Patriot sent you.

  1. How does this video show us that "Obamacare is "ruining the country"?

It is simply a normal political video accenting a success of a program enacted by politicians. sure it probably is propaganda but it is at least to some extent true(if it wasn't I'm sure someone at Fox News would be poking those holes in it).

This "article" has no information at all. It is simply a restating of talking points. When you have actual information about this program's short comings I'm all ears.

Also, I'm really surprised this is even appearing on SIDump. Am I being Punk'd?

  2. I'm also confused. How the hell did this end up on here?

  3. If this is supposed to be sarcastic it really doesn't come off that way.

Uh...this doesn't come off as sarcasm?

  5. From the Editor: The intention is to present both sides of a complex issue in a 'fair and balanced' way.

You are free to disagree with the content, but please do not disparage his right to give an opinion, and dismiss it as 'sarcasm'. We have gone through great lengths to include the perspective of the local Tea Party and would like to do more in the future.

There's an election in November. Our goal is to provide each candidate's vision in the most appropriate light.
    -thank you

  6. That last part was not present when I commented on the article, that "call to action" certainly reads as sarcasm.

  7. Sorry to regard it as sarcastic, I was truly confused. But if they want to present their side of these issues some facts would be nice. At least an actual meaty argument against the policy as apposed to this which reads like a few sentences restating a position in the broadest possible terms.

  8. There isn't anything in this post that suggests to me a cogent presentation of an actual argument. The author supports Medicare but doesn't want "poor people who are sick to receive affordable care" ? As a representative of the tea party, he sees Social Security as a 'legitimate' government handout but then jokes that he wants his SS check to keep coming to his 'minimansion' ? Those are some pretty obnoxious contradictions of his own beliefs.

SIDump's idea of providing both sides of the argument is admirable, but this is a fail.

Until they present real arguments, real facts, and real proposals, these tea party "patriots" do nothing but demonstrate the failure of the education system. And until people in the media like SIDump require that somebody using buzz words has an intelligent, thought-out argument to make, based on real data and not some bullshit idea of 'freedom' or who gets what, they do themselves and their readers a disservice that falls somewhere between idiotic and irresponsible.
